Moving Up, Showing Off
We decided to take it a little easier during the week after our horrifying visit to the hair torturer. We managed to relax a little, but that didn't stop things from moving inexorably forward.

We were having a conversation about keeping things up to date around here, and my lovely wife mentioned to me that in my attempt to capture Owen's 11 month blog I somehow managed to neglect everything else that happened two weeks ago. Clearly this issue must be rectified immediately.
Of course this means that I'm now behind again, but what else is new?
Believe it or not, the little guy turned 11 months old on Sunday. In just a few short weeks we'll be working like crazy to clean up the house in preparation for a birthday party. Until then, we'll probably just try to keep a baseline level of cleanliness (just short of how-did-a-tornado-get-in-here) and make sure that we don't get behind on this thing.
Hooray! By posting on Saturday I'm actually getting a technically on-time post for the first time in weeks (perhaps months). It wasn't a terribly busy week, but somehow that didn't stop us from snapping quite a few photos (not to mention a few videos).
Compared to other weeks, this one was pretty laid back. We didn't make any major trips out. Instead, we opted to hang out around the house and take advantage of our momentary lapse into calm.
As is our typical pattern, we are late with this post. As is also becoming somewhat of a pattern, the reason is that we keep finding ourselves taking weekend trips to see grandparents without any down time in between. I guess it's tough to help ourselves, since the kids seem to enjoy themselves so much.
Fun fact: This post (a late one, per usual) marks the 200th we've made on this blog. A celebration of some sort is probably in order, but I think we'll mark the occasion by noting that it has happened.
Done.
It's hard to believe that in a scant two months, baby Owen will suddenly cease to exist and be replaced by a one-year-old boy. This month has been filled with new developments, abilities, and of course a handful of difficulties.
Usually an extra day off makes things a little easier, but last week seemed just as long as any other. As a result, we slacked off quite a bit and found ourselves taking a much lower volume of photos. We did get some keepers, though.
I mentioned last week that it was going to take a while to get our Fourth of July post ready. I didn't realize quite how much we'd done that week until I reviewed the photos. I'll try to sum up as much as I can, but this is probably going to be a long one.
